VWMS 6th grade Cougar Leaders donate $250 to members of the Van Wert Humane Society

Under the leadership of Van Wert Middle School teacher, Marie Markward, and community volunteer, Rachel Hoverman, the 6th grade Cougar Leaders raised $250.00 to donate to the Van Wert Humane Society Capital Campaign. The civic-minded students sold “Canes for Canines” during the Christmas season. Pictured above receiving the generous donation is Franki Eggleston, Humane Society Vice President, with lovable Reed, as well as Humane Society board member Jeff Hood. The Humane Society is raising money for a new shelter on Fox Road and will be kicking off the campaign in a big way in March of 2020. Thanks again to our future community leaders in the 6th grade!
