Welcome to the Home of the Cougars!
It was said of a Cougar
a strong, proud climber is he.
But it's only because of his hope and desire,
That he can make it up that tree.

Van Wert City Schools Athletic Department has implemented a new procedure for season ticket holders. For those who wish to obtain a season ticket, you must fill out the Athletic Ticket Order Form and return to the High School Athletic Office, even if you are a current ticket holder. Current season ticket holders will be given their same seats, unless other accommodations are made with the Athletic Director.
New this year is the ability for adults to purchase a year-round sports pass that includes all high school and middle school athletic contests, excluding varsity football and JV/varsity boys’ basketball contests. Students may purchase a pass that includes all high school and middle school athletic events, excluding tournaments.
VWCS FAN CODE OF CONDUCT
Van Wert City Schools, in association with the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA), promotes sportsmanship at all its interscholastic athletic events. Sportsmanship is an essential part of any athletic competition and is expected from all athletes, coaches, officials, and fans. As a fan/spectator (student or adult) of Van Wert City Schools, we expect everyone to be an example of positive encouragement while supporting our athletes, coaches, and officials. Our behavior should be positive, respectful, and encouraging towards all athletes, coaches, officials, and opposing fans.
Failure to be an example of these athletic practices and/or ejection from an athletic contest may result in the following:
- School administrators may hold a meeting with the offender during the athletic event concerning the expected behavior for the remainder of that event and future events.
- The offender may be required to schedule a meeting with the Principal or Athletic Director with the resulting action that may include removal from the next two athletic contests of the same sport.
- The offender may be removed from all athletic contests and school events/activities for the remainder of the school year from the time of the infraction.
- The offender may be removed from all Van Wert City School Districts events/activities for up to two years.
A letter will be sent by the Principal /Athletic Director or Superintendent to the offender, notifying them of the consequences of their actions [two games, remainder of the year, or two years].
Any athletic official, including but not limited to, officials, athletic director, principal, assistant principals, game site supervisors or anyone else in an administrative role on the site, may uphold enforcement of an ejection.
While the Fan Code of Conduct encompasses behavior expectations and consequences for both student and adult fans, Van Wert City Schools administrators may apply further consequences to a student that is ejected from a contest due to the student violating the Student Handbook.
[NOTE: Due to the nature/severity of the action, school administrators reserve the right to impose the most severe penalty with the first offense if they deem it warranted.]
